Christian Weiss’s story begins in a machine shop, where he grew up immersed in the world of machining. While other children played outside, Christian was learning to craft precision components on a Hardinge speed lathe, creating piles of nylon chips. This early exposure nurtured his love and talent for machining, a passion seemingly inherited from generations of family machinists.
Throughout his childhood, Christian spent countless hours in his father's shop, mastering manual machining on Hardinge DSM-59s, Victor engine lathes, and Bridgeport knee mills. At age 13, his father purchased the shop’s first CNC machine. This marked a turning point for Christian. Taking a week off school, he learned CNC programming alongside the dealer’s Applications Engineer, igniting a lifelong dedication to advanced machining technology.
